How to Play Spider Solitaire
A Spider deal uses 104 cards—the contents of two standard decks. Fifty-four cards begin in ten tableau columns. The first four columns receive six cards each, the remaining six receive five, and only the bottom card of each column starts face up. The other 50 cards form the stock for later deals.
Build downward by rank on the tableau. For example, a 7 may be placed on an 8. Moving the exposed card can reveal a face-down card underneath, which then turns face up automatically. Your long-term objective is to arrange a complete same-suit sequence from King down to Ace. The game removes that run when it is complete. Finish all eight runs to win.
Spider Solitaire 1 Suit, 2 Suits and 4 Suits
1 Suit uses one suit for every card. Matching suits is automatic, so you can concentrate on uncovering cards, creating empty columns, and learning how stock deals affect the tableau. It is the easiest mode and a practical introduction to Spider.
2 Suits is the intermediate game. Descending ranks can still be combined across suits, but those mixed runs cannot move together. Planning where matching cards will meet becomes more important.
4 Suits uses hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades. It is the traditional hardest version because useful ranks are spread among all four suits. The wider mix makes careful sorting more important throughout the deal.
How Card Sequences Work
Tableau placement and sequence movement are related but not identical. You may place any card on the next higher rank even when the suits differ. A 7 of hearts can therefore be placed on an 8 of spades. This helps expose cards, but it creates a mixed-suit stack.
Only cards that form an unbroken descending sequence in the same suit can move together. A 9-8-7 run of spades may move as one group, while a spade 9, heart 8, and spade 7 must be reorganized before they can travel together. Individual face-up cards can still move when they have a legal destination.
How the Stock Works
The stock begins with 50 cards. Each stock action deals one new face-up card to every tableau column, so there are five rounds of ten cards. A deal can make an orderly position much more complicated because each new card lands on the current bottom card of its column.
You cannot deal while a tableau column is empty. Fill every empty column first, then use the stock. This rule prevents empty spaces from avoiding part of a ten-card deal and makes the timing of each stock action an important choice.
How to Complete a Suit
A completed run contains thirteen cards of one suit in exact descending order: King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, Ace. The cards do not need a separate foundation area while you build them; they are assembled directly in a tableau column.
Once the full same-suit run is formed, Uletime removes it automatically and marks one completed slot. Removing a run may expose another card or reveal that another complete run is already present. The resolution continues in order until no additional completed run remains. Eight completed runs win the deal.

Complete obvious same-suit work first when it improves the board, while avoiding rigid rules that ignore the actual position. Spider rewards preserving several workable paths.
