Halloween Mahjong turns the familiar Mahjong Solitaire puzzle into a friendly haunted-night game. Layouts use 84 to 144 tiles decorated with pumpkins, ghosts, bats, witches, and other spooky symbols. Match the open pairs, uncover the lower layers, and clear the entire arrangement to complete the board. The rules remain easy to learn while the stacked layouts give every move a useful planning decision.

The game runs directly in a current phone, tablet, or desktop browser. You can start without installing a game file, choose from 30 Halloween layouts, and return to saved progress on the same device. Its midnight colors and themed feedback create a playful seasonal atmosphere without changing the core puzzle.

Select two tiles with identical artwork, but only when both are free. A free tile has no higher tile overlapping its top and has at least one open horizontal side. If another tile covers it, or tiles block both its left and right sides, it cannot be removed yet. Keep matching legal pairs until every tile in the current layout has left the board.

Hint highlights an available pair when you need help spotting a move. Undo reverses recent removals, Shuffle redistributes the remaining tile faces without changing the layout shape, and Restart begins the current board again. These tools help you recover from a difficult position without changing the free-tile rules.

The Halloween tile artwork uses clear, colorful silhouettes over warm ivory pieces, making the symbols readable against the dark haunted setting. Successful pairs disappear with a short purple and pumpkin-orange magic effect. Quick consecutive matches build a Haunted Streak with a visible timer, brighter feedback, and a small flight of bats near the upper edge of the game.

Reaching the highest streak tier creates a brief Halloween moment without covering the central board, while completing a layout triggers moonlight, magic particles, and a themed bat celebration before the result appears. The interface remains mobile-first, and reduced-motion preferences replace the larger movements with simpler fades and glows.

All 36 designs appear in every layout: two or four copies per design in smaller layouts, and four in the full 144-tile layouts. The artwork favors clear silhouettes and easy recognition instead of tiny decorative details, so matching remains practical on a phone. Color is a useful clue, but confirm the whole picture before choosing a pair because several dark creatures and magic objects share related tones.
