Play FreeCell with a Built-in Solver

Play a complete FreeCell game at your own pace, with a solver ready when you need a way forward. Move cards yourself, then select Solve to search for a winning path from your current position. Your cards stay in place until you choose to follow the solution.

Follow a Solution Step by Step

Use Hint to highlight the next move or Next Step to play it. Auto Play follows the remaining solution using the same card controls and animations. Cancel stops a search or automatic playback. Moving cards yourself, Undo, Restart or New Game clears the old solution so you can solve the updated position.

A Solved result includes the solution’s total steps. Unsolvable means no winning path exists from that position; Timeout/Unknown means the search reached its limit without deciding. Solutions are not guaranteed to use the fewest moves.

FreeCell Solver FAQ

Can I play a complete FreeCell game here?

Yes. Play by moving cards yourself, or use the built-in solver when you want help. Undo, Restart and New Game are available throughout play.

Does Solve use my current position?

Yes. Solve analyzes the cards currently on the board, in the free cells and on the foundations. It can find a solution for a new deal or a position reached during play.

Will Solve finish the game automatically?

No. After a solution is found, Hint highlights the next move, Next Step plays one move, and Auto Play follows the remaining solution. Cancel stops the search or automatic playback.

Does a timeout mean my game is unsolvable?

No. Timeout/Unknown means the search reached its limit without a conclusion. Unsolvable is a separate result. You can keep playing, undo a move or start a new deal.

Does the solver find the shortest solution?

The solver looks for a winning path, not necessarily the fewest moves. Solving runs locally in your browser.
