How to Play Dice Merge

Drag the Current dice onto empty spaces on the 5×5 board. Tap Current to rotate a pair clockwise before placing it. The preview shows exactly where each die will land. Connect three or more matching dice horizontally or vertically to merge them into the next value: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, then Golden Star.

There is no timer. Look at Next before every move and leave room for both single dice and pairs. For keyboard play, press Enter or Space on Current to rotate, then focus a board cell and press Enter to place the first die there.

Connected Groups, Chains and Golden Stars

An entire matching group merges, including L and T shapes. Diagonal connections do not count. The first placed die has priority as the merge destination, followed by the second die and then cells in row order. Each upgrade can merge again, making a chain that frees more board space.

Three or more connected Golden Stars trigger a burst. Each participating star clears its surrounding 3×3 area, clipped to the board. Overlapping areas count once. Placement scores the pip total; a regular merge scores 10 × group size × new value. Star bursts score 100 per occupied cell cleared.

Leave Space for Your Next Move

Keep neighboring empty cells available for pairs. Build small groups near each other without trapping the spaces you need to complete them. A high die is useful only if you can bring matching neighbors alongside it. A chain can open the board, but saving a small pocket for Next is often safer than filling the last gap.

Use your three Undos to reconsider difficult placements. The shown Next piece stays locked. Newly generated pieces favor low values, with more singles when space is tight; they do not guarantee a merge. If your Current piece cannot fit in any direction, use an available Undo or start a new game. Your Best Score stays saved.

Frequently asked questions

How do dice merge?

Three or more equal dice connected horizontally or vertically merge as one whole group. Diagonals do not count. The group upgrades by one pip, with sixes becoming a Golden Star. New upgrades can start another chain.

What do Golden Stars do?

Connect at least three Golden Stars to clear the union of the 3×3 areas centered on every star in that group. Overlapping areas clear and score each occupied cell only once.

How do I rotate and place dice?

Tap Current to rotate clockwise, or drag it onto empty board cells. A double turns through four directions, preserving the order shown. On a keyboard, focus Current and press Enter or Space to rotate, then focus a board cell and press Enter to place the first die there.

Can I undo a move or resume later?

You have three Undos per game. Undo restores the board, score and both pieces. Progress and Best Score save in this browser when storage is available. Sound uses the shared game sound preference. Saves do not sync between devices.

When does the game end?

There is no timer or final level. A piece is blocked when it cannot fit in any direction. You can use a remaining Undo to recover; otherwise the game ends. Next is locked when shown and never changes secretly, so plan room for it.
